"This pre-conference forum isn't just an event; it's a movement towards safer, more effective healthcare," said SSH President Barry Issenberg, MD, FSSH. "Be part of a collaborative environment that promises to enhance patient safety and quality improvement through the power of simulation."

Attendees will delve into workforce training, readiness, and competency, discovering how simulation can address present challenges and future needs. The forum will feature seven key tracks, including EMS/Pre-Hospital Care, Nursing, Undergraduate & Graduate Medical Education, Advanced Practice Providers, Systems Integration (Patient Safety/Quality Improvement), Health Systems/Hospital Leadership, and Health Sciences.

In small group settings, participants will engage with experts, innovate together, and help shape the future of healthcare simulation. The event will also include a cocktail reception with the SSH Board of Directors on the first day and a continental breakfast on the second.

"This forum will bring together a diverse group of simulation users and policymakers from across the healthcare landscape," added Jared Kutzin, DNP, MS, MPH, RN, FSSH, FAAN, SSH President-Elect. "While simulation continues to gain traction in a broad cross-section of healthcare disciplines, pockets and silos still exist.”

Erasing those silos is key to a stronger future for healthcare simulation.

“Collaborating in an interactive environment will help to provide understanding of the successes and barriers to simulation amongst various disciplines and areas of healthcare,” said SSH Past President Paul Phrampus, MD, MBA, FSSH, CPE. “This will promote productive planning for the future and allow the power of simulation modalities to effectively improve the quality and safety of healthcare.”

The pre-conference forum is open to both IMSH attendees and non-attendees. Registration is now open, with an early bird rate available for those who register before the October deadline.

“SSH is in a unique position to help create the future of healthcare simulation, as well as guide the development and use of related technologies such as artificial intelligence, extended reality, and personalized learning,” said SSH Past President Bob Armstrong, MS. “Creating our future starts with a deep understanding of both the met and unmet needs of the educational and clinical workforce. I look forward to learning about these needs during the ‘Healthcare Simulation 2050’ forum!"
